Saints With A Mission 2009

On July 10th, 2009, the Faith Heritage SWAM Team will be flying into Puerto Lempira to minister at the House of Hope on the Miskito Coast in the eastern part of Honduras.

“There are roughly 30-40 kids at the House of Hope at any given time.  The vast majority of the kids who arrive there have some sort of physical problem (cleft palates, deformities, defects) or are malnourished and/or abandoned.  These children are desperate for the love of God.”  Plans for ministry are still in process, and are likely to include a VBS at the House of Hope and at a local church. A Women’s ministry and prison/construction ministry will also be included.

As a result, we need to raise $1150 support for each person.  We realize that this is a significant amount, however, we do believe the Lord is calling us to minister in this needy area. We have faith that He will provide the resources needed for each team member.  We would greatly appreciate your prayers. If you feel led to give financially to this Mission, you may do so by clicking on the "Donate" button above.

Our Team this year consists of Jim Ballard, Ed and Karen Eagan, Lisa Ottman, Jeff Shaver, Yanila Ramon, Laura Ballard, Dan Brown, Bethany Eagan, Michaela Eagan, Katelyn Foland, Brianna Maye, Rose Pich, Emmeline Stroman, Lydia Thayer, Katie Woznica, Angel Baker, Lee Shaver, and Kevin Smith .

House of Hope
Send Hope is a 501c-3 non-profit organization that was started to help the people on the Moskito Coast of Honduras. Their focus is in four main areas...

  1.  Short term medical, dental and construction             trips.

  2.  Providing items such as food, school                       supplies and clothing.

  3.  Bringing children to the United States for                  medical care.

  4. Helping students receive an education.

The House of Hope was opened in the Spring of 2005.  It houses partially disabled children while they continue their education at the School of Hope. It also houses malnourished babies and their families.  There are 16 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a kitchen and large eating area.  While the number of residents varies, as malnourished babies are able to return to their homes, approximately 35 - 45 people live in the House of Hope.

The School of Hope, located adjacent to the House of Hope, has approximately 50 students enrolled.  On the same property is the Volunteer House which has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a kitchen and eating area.  It will house 14 volunteers who come to work with the
children.  Soon construction
will begin on a storage
building and dental clinic.
Thank you for your support  and your prayers...
