General Political Science
A general overview of the United States political system, including
philosophy, historical background, the political process, structure of American government and
Civil Rights.


Honors Political Science
The senior Political Science program does an in-depth study of the
Constitution and the government systems. Emphasis is placed on the role of the Christian citizen
and the responsibility this includes.


General Economics
A general overview of the American economic system with an emphasis
on economic institutions. Learning to understand economic principles is the focus.


Honors Economics Senior Economics class stresses the role of the individual as a consumer.
Practical issues such as income tax preparation, career planning are discussed always with the
focus on the role of the Christian in the economic world.


Regents U. S. History
Regents U. S. History is a study of the history of America which
follows the curriculum and standards of the New York Regents. The rigorous course begins with
colonization and ends with America in transition (1980's - 1990's) Integrated into this study is
review for the regents examination.


AP U.S. History
AP United States History is a challenging and vigorous course that is
meant to be the equivalent of a freshman college course, and students can possibly earn college
credit and/or advanced standing. It is a full year survey of American History from the Colonial
Period to the present, the foundation being the Christian Biblical view of History.
Global Studies 10 The Global Studies 10 regents course is the second half of a two year
sequential course. It is a continuation of the study of God's world and focuses on the history,
geography, religion, culture, economic development and contemporary nations of Western
Europe, Russia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Integrated
into this study is review for the regents exam.

Global Studies 10
The Global Studies 10 regents course is the second half of a two year
sequential course. It is a continuation of the study of God's world and focuses on the history,
geography, religion, culture, economic development and contemporary nations of Western
Europe, Russia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Integrated
into this study is review for the regents exam.


Global Studies 9
Global Studies 9 is the first half of a two year sequential course. It is a
chronological approach beginning with the history of creation and ancient civilizations including
Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia. The next area of study is the
classical civilizations of Greece and Rome, proceeding then into the Middle Ages in Western
Europe. The course concludes with the Golden Ages outside of Western Europe. Also included
in the course is a focus on the religion, geography, culture and economic development of the
various regions of study.


Social Studies 8
In Social Studies 8 the students begin with a look at westward
development and then work into the Civil War period. The war and reconstruction period are
studied in depth, followed by a detailed study of the life and times of America through modern
times.


Social Studies 7
The curriculum covers early America (a brief review of exploration)
through the Homespun Era (ending at 1850). Concentration is placed on the role of New York
state in the development of the nation. There is an in-depth study of the development of the
Constitution.
