Requirements for Graduation

A.          Units: Student must earn a minimum of 24 units. This includes four units of Bible and 2 full units for four years of Physical Education.

B.        Competency Test Requirements: The specific tests that students must pass in order to receive a high school diploma:

 

                        1)         Regents Comprehensive exam in English.

                        2)         Regents examination in math.

                        3)         Regents in American History and Government.

                        4)         Regents exam in science.

                        5)         Regents in Global History and Geography.

 

C.  Required Courses for High School Diploma:

                               Bible  4 units                    English  4 units

                               Science  3 yrs.                  Health  1/2 unit

                               Soc. Stud.  4 units            Art and/or Music  1 unit

                               Math  3 units                    Phys. Ed. 4 years

           

Students pursuing an Advanced Regents Diploma must complete three units in Spanish.  Also, passing the required Regents examinations or their equivalent will be required for all courses.

          

D. Changes in the New York State Education Department graduation  requirements will be reflected in FHS policies toward graduation.
